During the 83rd Texas Legislative Session, the Texas Alliance of YMCAs continued to be proactive in the public policy arena; with emphasis on the YMCA’s three areas of focus: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. As a result, the Texas Alliance of YMCAs was able to build stronger relationships with elected state officials and work to pass five pieces of legislation.

Texas Alliance of YMCAs State Advocacy Day (February 12-13, 2013): “Building the Bridge Between Wellness and Health Care.” Over 90 YMCA state advocates were in attendance at the advocacy day.
